TANNERSVILLE — The Village of Tannersville is currently soliciting proposals from qualified attorneys to provide legal services for the Village Mayor, Village Board, and, when required, the Zoning Board of Appeals. Attorneys licensed to practice law in New York are invited to submit their proposals for consideration.
The selected attorney will offer general legal counsel to the Village Mayor and Village Board. Additionally, they will provide legal advice to the Zoning Board of Appeals when requested by the Village Mayor.
The legal advice provided should encompass a wide range of expertise. Furthermore, the attorney is expected to draft and review local laws, resolutions, contracts, letters, opinions, and other legal documentation. In litigation instances, the attorney will represent the Village and, when required, attend regular Village Board meetings, Special Village Board meetings, Public Hearings, and Zoning Board of Appeals Meetings to provide legal advice.
The attorney is also responsible for keeping Village officials informed between meetings and advising on new legislation, recent court decisions, and other litigation that may impact the Village.
The attorney's availability for conferences, telephone consultations, and special meetings with the Village Mayor, Village Board, and authorized personnel is crucial for maintaining a seamless flow of legal guidance.
