Written By The Mountain Eagle on 4/17/24 | 4/17/24

Colchester – Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a New Rochelle resident for driving with a suspended registration.

On Saturday afternoon, April 13th, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling on State Highway 17 in the Town of Colchester when the Deputy’s license plate reader hit on the vehicle for the registration being suspended. Upon conducting a traffic stop, Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 21-year-old Jesus Garcia-Zamora of New Rochelle, NY. A check of the vehicle’s vehicle registration was suspended, due to Insurance Not in Effect in the State of New York.

Deputies subsequently arrested Garcia-Zamota and issued him traffic summonses for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as Operating a Motor Vehicle with No Insurance, No/Inadequate Lights, all Violations of the New York State vehicle and traffic law. Garcia-Zamora was released on the traffic summonses and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charges.
