East Jewett Resident Arrested Following Accident

Harpersfield – Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that an East Jewett resident has been arrested on, Driving While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more as well as other Vehicle and Traffic violations following the investigation of a single vehicle accident that occurred.

On the Evening on April 3rd, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 23 in the Town of Harpersfield. Deputies arrived on scene and observed that a vehicle had left the roadway, before coming to rest in the ditch. Deputies made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Garrett Flanagan of East Jewett NY. 

Upon completion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Garrett Flanagan with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than 0.08%, Driving with ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol all misdemeanors of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Garrett was issued additional traffic summons for moved from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable or prudent, failure to keep right, and possession of an open alcoholic container within a +motor vehicle all violations in the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Flanagan was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Harpersfield Court at a later date.
