Village to Resurface Three Roads

By David Avitabile

MIDDLEBURGH - The annual Heritage Day concert in Middleburgh will be held at the M&S Depot on Friday, August 23.

The concert will begin at 7pm. The depot is located at the corner of Wells and Maple avenues in the village. In past years, the concert was held at Timothy Murphy Park on the other side of the creek from the village.

Trustee Bob Tinker,  who has overseen the rebirth of the depot since work started about a dozen years ago, said it would be a great place for a concert and that the depot would be open that evening.

In other news, trustees earlier the month approved a quote from the Gorman Group for $51,9090 to resurface Gorge Road, Griebel Lane, and Pleasant Avenue. It will cost $30,628 to resurface Gorge Road, $13,157 to resurface Griebel Lane, and $8,124 to do the work on Pleasant Avenue. The funds will come from the village's CHIPs funds for the year.

Other road work approved were: $130 for Carver Construction for trucking, $2,060 for stone from Carver Construction, and $14,760 for milling by Carver, for a total of $16,950. Those funds will also come from the village's CHIPs funds for 2024.
