COBLESKILL — The Friends of The Community Library Basket Raffle has 48 baskets to raffle off on Saturday, September 21, 2024. There will also be a book sale on September 21. When the Library is open, people can buy tickets for the raffle. The Friends are selling the tickets.
Just to name some of the types of baskets: Jim & Sandy Poole donated “Wine and Dine.” “I Only Quilt on Days that End in Y,” is donated by Peaceable Day Quilters. “A Trip to South Africa” is donated by Cindy Barton. There are two banned books baskets from the Messy Housekeepers Book Club. The Trustees of The Community Library donated a basket with a Robin Hood theme. “Without His Pie, Maigret is a Naked Man,” is donated by Greywoodie, LLC. The Cobleskill Chums have donated two baskets, one with a unicorn and one with a rodeo theme. Each basket is worth a minimum of $50 and contains at least one book.
The Friends of The Community Library raises funds for The Community Library that cannot be met by tax or grant funding such as prizes and pizza for the Battle of the Books, holiday decorations and celebrations, coffee, tea and treats at Trivia.
"I cannot thank the community enough for so many wonderful baskets donations!" Sarah Davis, Vice-president of The Friends
