Obituary - Celeste Anne Hartman

Celeste Anne Hartman, 71, of S. Kortright, NY passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 6, 2024 after a long bout with cancer. Born in Dearborn, MI on November 18, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Anacleto Jr. and Patricia Schaefer Leone.

Celeste spent most of her adult life in Delaware where she graduated from Concord High School and attended the University of Delaware. With a paralegal career spanning 40 years, she was employed in Wilmington consecutively by the Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.; Philips, McGlaughlin & Hall, P.A., and Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP. She retired to her beloved Catskill Mountain region in 2017 where she enjoyed her long-term hobbies of hiking, kayaking, landscaping, sewing, and baking, continuing a tradition of distributing trays of over 20 kinds of her special homemade Christmas cookies. Always active, she completed the Adirondack Marathon in 2013 as well as many shorter races. She loved to display her sewing creations at craft fairs, including colorful tea cozies, hot pads, baby burp cloths, and scarves.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Brian Hartman; children, Ryan Peters (Amanda), Lewes, DE, Christopher Peters, Georgetown, DE, Megan Doty (Adam), Virigina Beach, VA, and Michael Hartman (Mary), Bucharest, Romania; grandchildren, C. Bailey Peters, Newark, DE, Zoe Peters, Lewes, DE, Cora Doty and Pearl Doty, Virginia Beach, VA, and James Hartman, Bucharest, Romania; and siblings, Anacleto Leone III, Victoria Boyle, Patrick Leone, Christopher Leone, Daniel Leone, Shaun Leone, and Lisa Leone.

Celebration of Life will be held 12 PM, Monday, September 16, 2024 at La Casa Pasta, 120 Four Seasons Pkwy, Newark, DE 19702, where family and friends can share stories and remembrances of Celeste.
