PRATTSVILLE – Our many thanks to and appreciation of our law enforcement and early responders and volunteer fire departments. They all put themselves on the line for our well being. Thank you.
What is happening on Route 23A, about one half mile from the junction of Routes 23 and 23A, towards Lexington? In the past two weeks there have been about four incidents involving law enforcement vehicles, including State Police, Greene County Sheriffs Department and DEP vehicles. We surmise the one time it was in response to the two male dogs wandering around. The other times, do not have a clue. The good news is the dogs are now in safe hands although it is not with their unknown owners, no collars or IDs were on the dogs They did bark all Monday night and the residents on Route 23A are glad they have been taken into custody. Elliott and Shelly Brainard took pity on them and gave them food and drink and the dogs played nice and waited around, dozing off for some naps, for rescue workers to take them off to safety. Thank you.
Hey, Dottie Pickett, hoped you watched the Bills/AZ game because the Bills did win. It was an exciting game and when your team wins, in this case The Bills, it is a super game. Go Bills. Had a conversation with relatives in the Rochester area and think we could hear their cheering when the Bills won. And maybe they heard the Bills’ fans in our area cheering also. See accompanying picture of the youngest and cutest BILLS fan.
Kathy and Theresa at the Prattsville Town Office love tomatoes so if you want to get rid of some, they will gladly accept them. Theresa said her children eat them like apples and Kathy said hubby Everett loves a thickly sliced tomato sandwich. Carol said she and husband Frank have made sixteen quarts of tomato sauce and he wants to make more. Carol did not say if she was going to proceed on that path. She does have a lot to do with making sandwiches and desserts for the Zadock Pratt Museum Victorian Tea on Saturday, September 28. Make sure you get in touch with the Museum at 201-388-5103 to make your reservations including choosing your time to attend, 12 noon, 1:30 PM or 3 PM. Support our Museum and enjoy a special afternoon with friends or friends and make new one memories.
Cousins of a certain age, Benny Benjamin and Schuyler Minew, have re-discovered the joy of horseback riding. Well Benny has never abandoned it completely but Schuyler has let a few years lapse since the last time he has saddled up. Schuyler’s daughter Heather is a horse lover and Benny’s granddaughters Peyton and Evangeline were also at one time, so now Benny and Schuyler have decided to try horseback riding again. As young boys Benny and Schuyler both rode ponies and now that they are big boys they ride the full sized horses. This gives them a chance to revisit their childhood memories and they are now making new ones. Wonder what their walk looks life after months or years of not horseback riding. Here’s to happy trails and new memories. Benny’s mom Rose and Schuyler’s mother Joan were two of the Delmar sisters of Lexington.
