We’re all beginning to think ahead to this November or so it seems.
Questions are looming at gatherings everywhere and in virtually every news source.
Social media is also riddled with problematic and troubling commentaries on a daily basis leaving people more inclined to steer clear of controversial issues.
Morning talk shows, with limited audiences, take full advantage of being able to promote “ their” candidate.
Evening news formats tend to skew the news in an attempt to minimize a misstep or an outburst that could be damaging to their own ratings. Looking at facts and issues has become irrelevant.
What should apply , as determined by the laws of the land, doesn’t seem to apply to all.
We have never been so divided on one side or the other as a nation. With three generation’s focused on their needs and wants going forward, how can a middle ground be reached?
And this divide is widening the gap between any potential dialogue from occurring among friends, family , communities etc.
Here I go again … WHAT IF?
Or perhaps rephrasing to
Ask… WHAT NOW?
We are going to be asked to make a SELECTION come this November.
How do we go about making a wise choice from the options we are being given? \
Do we just choose based on our former political positions?
What are the issues at hand that will determine how you or I make our S…election …this year?
Will the issues, as defined by the candidates political party this year, be clearly outlined about what’s most relevant in our country.
I believe Baby Boomers have never felt so disregarded in terms of the importance of our vote even counting.
Am I… are We…selecting a candidate that represents the majority of individuals who live, work and play in this country?
What is to be of the selections we make that we know will impact the future generations ?
Where is the common ground that we can all agree upon?
What are the issues? More so….What are the solutions?
There has to be something that makes more sense than “ them “ and “us”!
Of course there will be those who will just discount this opinion.
Don’t think I'm naive.
I’m anything but.
However, if all I do is wield the sword of negativity about“ the other side “ then I’m no better.
Staying home on S…Election Day is definitely not a solution.
So until something like that great comet falls from the sky to shake us out of this malaise,
WE THE PEOPLE had better
Get wise with our choices on
S…election day this Fall.
S…election day. Part 2.
Furthering the discussion.
Next time around.
