H-T Falls to Tioga in Schenevus Tourney

DELAWARE LEAGUE –  South Kortright/Andes opened its season last Wednesday with a 63-33 non-league victory over Charlotte Valley. Boston Quarino led the way with 14 points in double figures and Parker Popp chimed in another 10 points. Simon Cowls led Charlotte Valley scoring with 13 points on the night.

Gilboa/Roxbury defeated Windham 61-42 on Tuesday. Jordan Johnston connected on five three-pointers to finish with a game-high 23 points. Cody Ciaravino chipped in another 19 points and John DeWitt added 12 points in double figures. For WAJ, Jacob Schwartz led the scoring with 17 points.

Laurens/Milford defeated Hunter-Tannersville 59-23 in non-league action last Wednesday. Donovan Garcia was the high man for H-T with seven points on the night.

In a non-league game last Friday, H-T lost 53-23 to non-league Tioga in the opening round of the annual Schenevus Tournament. Gideon Glennon scored 15 points and pulled down 10 boards for  H-T who would face close league rival Windham in Saturday's consolation round.

Host Schenevus defeated Windham 72-23 in their opener. Payton Dempsey and Christian Greene led WAJ scoring with seven points each. 

Windham went on to win the consolation game over H-T 63-45. Dempsey, who was named to the all-tournament team, led scoring with 24 points with teammates Jacob Schwartz and Donovan Garcia adding 18 and 15 points, respectively. Glennon led H-T with 15 points on the night.

Bainbridge-Guilford defeated Gilboa/Roxbury 61-23 in a non-league game last Friday.

South Kortright/Andes fell 57-32 to Loudonville Christian in non-league action last Friday in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tipoff at Fulton Montgomery Community College. Jack Byrne scored six points and Boston Quarino chipped in five points. 

They went on to defeat Galway 74-58 on Sunday. Parker Popp led the way with 19 points, Quarino chipped in 17 points and Jack Byrne added 16 points to the non-league win.

Shogunate Franklin defeated host Jefferson/Stamford 61-51 on Tuesday to claim the title of the annual Stamford Booster Club Tournament. The two teams were tied a few times before U/F moved out to a 10-point lead in the final quarter and S/J was unable to close the gap. Gavin VanEtten led J/S scoring with 21 points on the night, while teammate Leland Donato Williamson chimed in with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Max Eisel was named to the all-tournament team as he pulled down 15 rebounds.

Stamford defeated Unadilla Valley, 60-51 in Monday's opener. Eisel led that charge with 19 points and 16 rebounds. 

U/F earned its seat in the championship game by defeating Laurens/Milford 62-43 on Monday. Unadilla Valley defeated Milford/Laurens 54-46 to finish third in the tournament.
