Stamford/Jefferson Claims Schenevus Tourney Title

DELAWARE LEAGUE –  South Kortright/Andes defeated the  Margaretville Lady Blue Devils 72-25 in action on Tuesday. Addy Eckert led the charge with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Caitlyn Deysenroth bucketed 20 more and pulled down seven rebounds. Carlee Dropp finished the night with nine points, 10 rebounds, and six steals. 

The Charlotte Valley Lady Wildcats defeated non-league Middleburgh 59-17 in action Monday. Brinlee Wright bucketed the game-high of 24 points to lead the charge, while Ella Gerster chimed in another 16 points in double figures.

Also on Monday, Hunter-Tannersville defeated  non-league Worcester  56-15. Emma Constable led the charge with 11 points, while teammate Julia Legg chimed in 10 points and had 11 steals. Saleema Poladian added eight points, and Medeline Fromer scored seven points in the win, with Angelina Dixon contributing six steals.

Stamford/Jefferson defeated  Hunter-Tannersville 53-28 in the opening round of the annual Schenevus Tournament to advance to the championship round. McKenna Hoyt led the way with 26 points, 21 rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals. Her teammate, Tierney Turner, added another 10 points in double figures. Angelina Dixon scored eight to lead H-T. She also had five rebounds and 5 steals Saleema Poladian and Aubrianna Stanton also had a good night on the boards with several rebounds each.

S/J went on to defeat the host team to claim the title, defeating Schenevus 45-32 in Saturday's championship round. 

Once again, Hoyt led the way, bucketing 19 points, pulling down 15 rebounds, stealing six plays, and dishing off six assists. Turner added 16 points. Hoyt was named the tournament's most valuable player, while Emily Eklund and Natalie Nebesnik were named to the all-tournament team. For Schenevus, Amber Burton led the scoring with nine points.

In the annual Pat Grasso Tournament at Laurens, Bainbridge-Guilford defeated South Kortright/Andes 51-46 to claim the title. Addy Eckert led SK/A with 16 points and was named to the all-tournament team and Caitlyn Deysenroth added 15 points and teammate Carlee Dropp also made the all-tournament team.

Edmeston/Morris defeated the host team Laurens/Milford 49-29 in the consolation game on Friday. Laurens/Milford fell to SK/A 54-21 in the opening round last Thursday. Eckert scored 20 points to lead the Lady Rams and Carlee Dropp chimed in another 12 points to the win. Deysenroth add eight points and 10 rebounds.

Bainbridge-Guilford defeated Edmeston/Morris 41-21 in their opener.
