DELAWARE LEAGUE – Charlotte Valley/Schenevus defeated Margaretville 19-1 on Tuesday to pick up another league win. Natalie Amadon connected on a trio of hits, scored a pair of runs and drove in five RBI, while Josie Butler added two hits and had four RBI. Abby Vroman had three hits and three runs, Brinlee Wright added two hits and three runs and Sam Barrett, Autumn Burton, Amber Burton and Raya Williams all scored two runs each.
In action on Tuesday, Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs defeated Stamford/Jefferson 21-5 in non-league action. Rose Bevilacqua had the lone hit for S/J. S/J scored five runs in the bottom of the second, but was unable to close the gap.
Gilboa/Roxbury defeated Margaretville 22-1 in league play last Thursday. Addy Hynes threw a no-hitter with six strikeouts for GC/R. Olivia Ross added a trio of hits, including a homer and a double and Bailey Hughes scored five runs. Mikayla Wright added three RBI.
Gilboa/Roxbury defeated Stamford/Jefferson 20-2 on April 30 to pick up a league win. Mikayla Wright picked up the pitching win, striking out 11 batters, and helped her cause with a pair of hits and three runs. Kelly Kalleberg and Caitlyn Ciaravino each had a pair of hits and scored three runs each, while Savannah Pettersen added three hits, four funs and four RBI to the win. Emma Hendrickson led S/J with a pair of hits, including a triple.
South Kortright/Andes defeated Margaretville 38-3 in league play last Thursday. Madysen Reeves and Lilly Temple homered and teammates Jayleen Kelly and Carlee Dropp each had four hits.
Charlotte Valley/Schenevus squeezed by Walton/Downsville 8-7 in their own Calhoun Classic Tournament last Saturday. Josie Butler picked up the pitching win and teammates Natalie Amadon and Clair Clark both connected on a double. The second round of the tournament was rained out.
