DELHI — The Delaware County Historical Association (DCHA) is once again offering the Past by Post program for those interested in local history. Past by Post sends participants a bi-monthly mailing that includes a high-quality copy of a historic document from our archives, a typed transcription of the document for easier reading, and a page of information about the writer of the document and their circumstances. The program will run for five months, with participants receiving a total of 10 historic documents.
This year, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the featured documents will be pension records from local veterans who fought for independence. Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of South Central New York, this program is being offered for free!
The first mailing will be sent out in early November, just in time for Veterans Day! Looking to give this program as a gift? Let us know and we'll send the recipient a note that they have been gifted a subscription to Past by Post, along with an explanation of the program and when the documents will be mailed out.
