WALTON — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton resident for driving while intoxicated.
On Saturday night, December 13th, 2025, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Walton. Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies determined that the operator, subsequently identified as 36-year-old Robert Wickham of Walton, NY, had left the scene of the accident.
Upon completion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Wickham with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving with .08 of 1% or more of alcohol in blood, both misdemeanors of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Wickham was also issued traffic summonses for No/Inadequate Lights, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, Fail to Keep Right, Fail to Use Designated Lane, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Speed not Reasonable and Prudent, all violations in the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Upon completion of arrest processing, Wickham was released on appearance tickets and traffic summonses and was directed to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date.
