The SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball team posted three North Atlantic Conference (NAC) home wins during the week to improve to 14-1 overall on the year including a NAC Western Division leading 7-0 record. On Tuesday the Fighting Tigers recorded a 66-41 victory over the visiting Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute prior to downing the Lynx of Lesley University on Friday evening by a 104-20 margin then topping the Hornets of Vermont State University-Lyndon on Saturday by a score of 80-41. Junior forward Cara Walker, Phelps, N.Y., Midlakes High School, led the way during the week averaging 15.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists on the week connecting on 16-of-25 shots from the field, 64.0%, and 13-of-15 free throw attempts, 86.7%, Walker also registered a triple/double in the team’s win over Lesley with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Fighting Tiger men’s basketball team won two-of-three NAC home contests during the week to move to 10-7 overall on the year including a 5-2 record versus league opponents. On Tuesday Cobleskill lost a 75-67 decision to the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute before sweeping a pair of conference games over the weekend downing the Lynx of Lesley University on Friday 92-83 then topping the Hornets of Vermont State University-Lyndon on Saturday by a 100-63 margin. Sophomore guard Kobe Long, Rochester, N.Y., McQuaid Jesuit High School, led the way for Cobleskill averaging 20.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game connecting on 19-of-37 shots from the field, 51.4%, including 10-of-22 shots from three-point range, 45.5%, while going perfect from the free throw line hitting on all 13 of his attempts during the week.
