SK, Charlotte Valley Girls to Vie for League Title

DELAWARE LEAGUE – The final games of regular season have taken place and high school basketball action entered round robin play this week to determine who will play in the league championship at 5:30 p.,. on Feb. 15 at SUNY Delhi. South Kortright clinched its seat in the championship game, finishing at 6-0 in league play and 14-4 overall.

SK will play third-seeded Davenport in the championship after Charlotte Valley upset Stamford/Jefferson in Tuesday's round robin action.

Second-seeded Stamford/Jefferson was defeated by third-seeded Davenport  58-44 on Tuesday as four players hit double figures. Jessica Ziull was on fire from three-point range, dropping in six to finish the night with 18 points for the Lady Wildcats. Teammates Ella Gerster and Kailey Whitbeck chimed in another 12 points in double figures and Brinlee Wright added 12. S/J was led by Mckenna Hoyt's 26 point, 16 rebounds and six steals.

South Kortright defeated Gilboa/Windham 59-44 in their round robin pairing. .G/W is seeded fourth in the mini tournament. Addy Eckert again led the way for SK with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Carlee Dropp chimed in another 11 points, had seven steals and pulled down five rebounds. G/W was led by Hannah Tuttle's 17 points and Ashtyn Hansen's 16 points.

Hunter-Tannersville defeated Roxbury 37-30 in the mini-tournament playoff. Saleema Poladian scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. Ryleigh Goodrich led Roxbury with 13 points.

Roxbury will play Margaretville this Thursday

Stamford/Jefferson and Gilboa/Windham were set to meet on Thursday in the second round ofthe playoff.

In regular season action last week:

Gilboa/Windham defeated Roxbury 49-17 last Thursday. Hannah Tuttle led the way with 22 points on the night and Ashtyn Hansen chimed in another 14 points and 11 rebounds to the win.Caitlyn Ciaravino pulled down 10 rebounds. For Roxbury, Ryleaigh Goodchild scored six points.

In non-league action last Thursday, Cherry Valley- Springfield defeated Charlotte Valley 53-34. Ella Gerster led the Lady Wildcats with nine points. 

South Kortright defeated Franklin 59-32 in a non-league game. Addy Eckert led the Lady Rams with 35 points and 19 rebounds. Carlee Dropp added seven points, 11 rebounds and five steals.
