SUNY COBLESKILL MEN’S GOLF TAKES FIFTH PLACE AT 2023 NORTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT



Canton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men’s golf team battled wet weather and muddy course conditions a post two-day total of 100-over par 676 to place fifth overall in a field of 11 teams at the 2023 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Tournament hosted by SUNY Canton over the weekend at the par-72/6569-yard Partridge Run Golf & Country Club.


The Fighting Tigers, who were picked to finish sixth going into the event by the league’s coaches, were led by sophomore Joshua House, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Saratoga Springs High School, who placed 10th overall in the 55-player field shooting round of 75 and 84 to finish the event at 15-over par 159 to earn All-NAC Team honors for the second consecutive season.


Cobleskill also received top-half finishes in the field from senior Sean McMahan, Clifton Park, N.Y., Shenendehowa High School, who fired rounds of 86 and 85 for a tournament total of 27-over par 171 to tie for 23rd overall with his Fighting Tiger teammate junior Leo Rosenstadt, Westchester, N.Y., Scarsdale High School, who record a two-day total of 27-over par 171 with rounds of 88 and 83.


The team’s fifth place finish represents a significant improvement from the team’s 2022 NAC Championship Tournament finish of ninth place.

SUNY COBLESKILL WOMEN’S X-COUNTRY PLACES THIRD AT HAMILTON COLLEGE INVITATIONAL



Clinton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women’s cross country team braved the elements on Saturday posting a team total of 97 points on a waterlogged 5000-meter course at the 2023 Hamilton College Invitational hosted by Hamilton College on their campus course to place third overall in an eight-field at the event.


The Fighting Tigers were once again led by first-year runner Lilianna Peters, Hinsdale, N.Y., Allegany-Limestone High School, who finished fourth overall in the 70-runner field by covering the course in a time of 19:51.7 followed by junior Kathrine Ledermann, Altamont, N.Y., Guilderland High School, who placed 11th in a time of 20:20.4 and sophomore Alyssa Freeguard, Argyle, N.Y., Argyle High School, who placed 19th in a time of 21:07.8.


Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday October 14 when they travel to Springfield, Mass for the 2023 Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Western New England University beginning at 10:30 a.m.

SUNY COBLESKILL MEN’S SOCCER LOSES ON ROAD TO UNIVERSITY OF MAINE-FARMINGTON 5-0 IN NAC ACTION


 

Farmington, Maine: The SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer team opened their weekend North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road trip on Saturday afternoon in less than stellar fashion dropping a 5-0 decision to the University of Maine-Farmington at the Beavers’ Leib Field. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 3-6-1 overall on the season including a 1-3 record in NAC action while the Beavers improve to 6-4-2 overall with a 4-0 record in league action.

 

Cobleskill will close out the road trip on Sunday, October 8, when they travel to Lyndonville, Vt. for a league meeting with the Hornets of Vermont State University-Lyndon with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
