Cobleskill Police Nab Second Heroin Arrest

The Cobleskill Police Department has announced that, in conjunction with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Team (CNET), they have arrested twenty year old Mouro Sow of Spencer, New York for allegedly selling heroin in the Village of Cobleskill. 

State Troopers apprehended the suspect around 4:40 pm Friday afternoon in the Town of Spencer after New York State Police Troop C was notified of arrest warrants for the man originating from the Cobleskill Police Department. Sow was turned over to local law enforcement for further action.

During an ongoing joint investigation, it was discovered that Sow was allegedly in possession and selling heroin. As the information was developed it led to two separate purchases of the illegal drug on at least two occasions from the suspect. This marks the second such arrest in as many weeks by Cobleskill Police. 

Sow was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies. He was arraigned in the Town of Cobleskill Court and was subsequently remanded to Schoharie County Correctional Facility on $10,000.00 cash bail or $30,000.00 bond. He is to return to Town of Cobleskill Court on Tuesday, May 26 at 4:00 pm for further action.

Cobleskill Police Arrest Suspect for Selling Heroin

Following a joint investigation with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), the Cobleskill Police Department Friday announced the arrest of Tahshiem M. Green, 24, of Cobleskill on two counts of the Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B Felonies. 

It was discovered over the course of an on-going investigation that Green was allegedly involved in the sale and possession of Heroin. The information was developed by law enforcement officers and led to two separate purchases of the illegal substance from the suspect in Cobleskill. 

Green was arraigned in the Town of Cobleskill Court and was remanded to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility on $15,000.00 cash bail or $30,000.00 bond. The suspect is to return to Town of Cobleskill Court on May 20th at 4:00 pm for further action.

Cobleskill Police Arrest Man for Sale and Possession of Marihuana

Earlier this afternoon the Cobleskill Police Department announced the arrest of Terrance K. Phinney, 23, of Newburgh, New York following a joint investigation with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET).

During an on-going investigation by local and state authorities, it was learned that Phinney was allegedly involved in the sale and possession of marihuana. On Wednesday morning at 10:00 am members of the Cobleskill Police Department and CNET executed a search warrant at Mr. Phinney's residence on MacArthur Avenue. 

Based on the search warrant execution, law enforcement seized over a quarter pound of processed marihuana; a quantity of edible food productions containing marihuana; a quantity of Ecstasy: prescription medication; drug paraphernalia such as pipes, bongs, plastic bags packing, a digital scale and $735.00 in currency. 

Phinney was arraigned in the Town of Cobleskill Court and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Sale of Marihuana in the Third Degree; 1 count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree; 1 count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree; and, 1 count of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 4th Degree.

The suspect was remanded to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility on $10,000.00 cash bail or $30,000.00 bond. He is to return to Town of Cobleskill Court on Monday, May 12th at 11:00 am for future action.

Sheriff's Office: No Arrest Made, But Tri-Agency Investigation Working on Car Break-In Spree

According to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon by the Schoharie County Sheriff's Department, there have been no arrests made in several vehicle related break-ins spanning the county, but out of the crime spree a tri-agency investigation has emerged to resolve the situation.

The break-ins, which started on Easter Sunday in the Village of Schoharie and soon spread to the Villages of Middleburgh and Cobleskill earlier this week, have local law enforcement investigating leads to track down those responsible for the thefts that claimed prescription drugs, electronics, and in one case, at least one debit card.

Officers in the Cobleskill and Schoharie Police Deparments are working on break-ins reported in their respective jurisdictions, while the Sheriff's Department is looking into four cases that occurred in the Village of Middleburgh.

     At around 8:05 a.m. the Cobleskill Police Department received a call about a suspicious male in the area of 161 Elm St., who seen running from that location into the woods. Patrols began an immediate search of the area and located a male subject attempting to hide in-between some vehicles that were parked in the driveway of 161 Elm St. The male was taken into custody without incident and was identified as Brent D. Speeding.

Cobleskill Police Arrest Woman for Stealing More Than $4,000 from Employer

The Cobleskill Police Department submitted the following arrest report this morning:

   

      On 03/02/2014 at about 09:05 pm, Cobleskill Police arrested Misty M. Wayman, age 38, of Cobleskill NY on arrest warrants for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class C Felony; and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a class E Felony.

On December 31st, 2013, police received a complaint from Wayman’s  employer, the Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens, Inc., alleging that Wayman was believed to have been involved in an on-going course of theft of money from the business over the course of her employment.

Business and financial records were subpoenaed and reviewed during the investigation. Subsequent information discovered during the investigation showed that Wayman is believed to have stolen a minimum of $4,055.87 between January 15th 2013 to November 28th 2013. Wayman is alleged to have used a business credit card for unauthorized personal purchases as well as taking cash deposits for her own use from  “The Everything Shoppe”, a business owned and operated by the Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens.

     At 8:55 p.m. Cobleskill, NY, arrested Robert J. Ambroz, 41, of Cobleskill, NY, on a Bench Warrant for failing to pay a fine.  He was arraigned in Cobleskill Town Court and remanded to the Schoharie County Jail on $125 Bail.
